We purchade a Day ticket on bus AD122 to visit both Forts. Follow the path in an easterly direction to Housesteads Roman Fort and Museum, a visit is highly recommended. From the Fort and Museum, follow the tarmac road in a south westerly direction from the old farmhouse down to the B6318 Military Road. These are so important making them the early evidence of women’s writing in Britain. Located near the modern village of Bardon Mill, it guarded the Stanegate, the Roman road from the River Tyne to the Solway Firth. Finds can be seen in the site museum, in the museum at Chesters, and in the Museum of Antiquities in Newcastle upon Tyne. I would say that in one day you can visit two forts.
